| Petition to Bring Back Geordie Knowledge Test5 May 2015 | Admin Hundreds of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne private hire drivers have backed a campaign to bring back a compulsory "Geordie Knowledge" test. Newcastle Council Scrapped the test, which demanded that private hire drivers in the city have in-depth knowledge of the area. But employees at some of the region's biggest taxi firms have signed a petition calling for the test to be brought back.
