Minicab Drivers Possibly Forced to Sit English Test

27 March 2015  |  Admin

Minicab drivers could be forced to take an English language test under new proposals.

Private hire cab drivers will also face beefed-up-geography tests to prove that they can find their way around the capital. Transport for London is planning to bring new rules after complaints about drivers failing to understand directions.

Boris Johnson told the London Assembly: "I don't think we can have a situation in which minicab drivers, who one way or another are regulated by this city, should be able to drive around and take fares without being about to speak English properly.
