Knowledge Point School is the training arm of Taxi Trade Promotions Ltd and has over 26 years experience in training students for the Knowledge of London. We are the only Knowledge School to be subjected to an inspection by the Government’s Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI). Out of 1,738 providers inspected only 2% received an outstanding Grade 1 Award of which we were one. We are also the only Knowledge School whose teaching staff are all vocationally competent working taxi drivers who have qualified to teach in the Life Long Learning Sector (PTTLS Grade 3/4).
It is for this reason that more Taxi Drivers on the road today have been trained through Knowledge Point School than all other Knowledge Schools put together. In fact due to the media interest shown in Knowledge Point School we are renowned around the world, having been filmed by and shown in over 20 different countries worldwide.
We have designed the school to help you through the entire Knowledge process, from our FREE Introductory Session, to guiding you through learning the Yellow Badge Runs, to successfully making appearances, to passing your Driving Test and finally, to completing the Inner Runs and achieving your Yellow Badge.
It is essential when learning the knowledge to constantly revise the runs and points that you have learnt. This is referred to as Calling-Over and involves reciting, checking and analysing your competence with a Call-Over partner ideally using an A-Z flat laminated map which is made specifically for your Sector and a dry marker pen to enable you to track runs as you are calling them and monitor how well you are doing.
Here at Knowledge Point School we offer Yellow Badge Students the opportunity to come in to our classes which are held each Friday morning between 10.30am - 12.30pm. These classes are open to everyone regardless of which Sector you are studying or what standard you are at.
To Book a Yellow Badge Class To book a class all you need to do is turn up on the day and pay over the counter within our school shop. When you purchase a class you will receive a Yellow Badge Work Sheet to help with you revision and you will be eligible to take
advantage of our Knowledge Clinic. This is a one to one session with our senior tutor to help people who are having problems with the knowledge or who need guidance through certain stages. No appointment is necessary, simply come along to the school reception any Monday between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
